1. Scope of this statement
This statement covers the public BytePreview website at https://www.bytepreview.com in Spanish, English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese, including the newsletter archive, subscription and notification pages. The publisher is Merito Media LLC; identification details appear in the legal notice.
The interactive sample was mainly in Spanish: home, the News section, USB search, articles about USB-C and the gender digital divide, catalogue and Googlebook entry, contact, newsletter archive and one web issue, notification preferences, menus, subscription invitation and privacy choices. This statement was checked in all six languages; the other sample results do not extend to every translation.
Internal Admads, emails across mail clients, linked websites and possible downloads were not fully evaluated. Not evaluated does not mean exempt from applicable obligations.
2. Reference, method and status
WCAG 2.2 is a technical reference for selected checks of navigation, focus, structure and layout. Keyboard and visual checks, code inspection and application tests are not a complete conformance evaluation. We claim no achieved A, AA or AAA level, certification or external audit.
Checks used the Codex integrated browser on Windows, keyboard and mouse, and viewports of 1280 × 720, 390 × 844 and 320 × 844 CSS pixels, with light and dark themes and open and closed controls. The browser version was not recorded. Narrow viewports simulate screen widths, not physical phones.
No screen readers, other assistive technologies or participants with disabilities were used. Full zoom, all colour states and cross-browser compatibility remain unevaluated. Laravel tests simulate services for error and confirmation states; they do not verify real email delivery or assistive-technology use.
4. Forms, subscriptions and privacy
Contact fields have labels and required-field validation; an empty submission focuses the first required field. Name, email, subject and message errors are associated with their fields. Application tests cover errors and receipt with simulated mail, not a real message in this review.
Newsletter subscription requires consent and email confirmation. Confirmation and unsubscribe links open a page before the action. Application tests cover pending requests, confirmation, unsubscribe and errors. Published issues can be read without subscribing. No real push permission or notification was activated.
“Privacy settings” in the footer opens analytics choices and focuses the first button. Accepting or rejecting closes the notice and returns focus to the privacy control. These choices do not manage push permission or unsubscribe from email.
5. Known difficulties and alternatives
Contact requires JavaScript and ALTCHA anti-abuse verification. There is no equivalent submission without JavaScript. If the script or verification prevents contact, write to Merito Media LLC, 407 Lincoln Rd, Suite 6H, Miami Beach, FL 33139, United States, marked “Accessibility — BytePreview”. No technical replacement or delivery date has been agreed.
Some sample image alternatives repeat a headline or a long excerpt, including the Spanish USB-C 2026 article about speed, video and charging. They may be repetitive or fail to explain the image adequately. The historical archive still needs qualitative review. Read the accompanying article text or request an explanation of the specific image; this does not replace correcting its alternative.
Catalogue tables may require horizontal scrolling at narrow widths. A Googlebook price table was inspected, but screen-reader use was not fully evaluated. If you cannot read a row, report the entry and the information needed. The review does not establish that other tables or content have no barriers.
6. Editorial content and external services
The sample includes text, photos or illustrations, article contents lists and catalogue tables. Article headings and contents links were checked. An alt attribute alone does not demonstrate a useful description. Video, audio, complex charts and downloadable documents were not evaluated; universal captions or transcripts are not claimed.
Google Maps loads automatically on contact. The publisher’s address also appears as text outside the map, with a separate Google Maps link. Interaction inside the map was not fully evaluated. Google Analytics provides measurement; its own-site privacy controls were checked.
Sources, social networks and commercial links lead to external websites, unlike the embedded map. Funding may involve advertising, affiliation or sponsorship; ad creatives and every possible integration were not evaluated. Third-party origin does not automatically exclude responsibility.
7. Report a barrier or request an alternative
Use the contact form with “Accessibility” as the subject. If the form itself prevents contact, write by post to Merito Media LLC, 407 Lincoln Rd, Suite 6H, Miami Beach, FL 33139, United States. You do not need to prove a disability or disclose a diagnosis or health information.
If possible, include the URL, what you tried and what happened. Browser, device or assistive-technology details can help but screenshots and technical expertise are not required. For another format, explain what would help and an accessible way to respond.
8. Handling requests and pending decisions
Reports go to the BytePreview contact channel, under the editorial responsibility of Merito Media LLC. No specialist accessibility unit or specific response deadline is published. A form receipt confirms technical reception, not approval or resolution.
Alternative-format requests need assessment for the particular content; immediate conversion to any format is not guaranteed. A dedicated procedure, response timeframe and broader assistive-technology evaluation remain to be defined. No correction timetable has been approved for the stated limitations.
This information does not restrict applicable rights or complaint routes. We do not describe the site as a public authority or claim unverified exemptions or administrative procedures.
9. Preparation and changes in this review
The check date refers to an assisted internal technical review of the described sample, without independent auditors or participants with disabilities. The document update date identifies this version and can differ from a later evaluation date.
Alongside the document, fixes addressed the skip-link focus target, focus restoration after Escape in menus and after a privacy choice, and header overflow at 320 pixels. Browser checks and regression tests verified these specific changes; they do not prove global conformance or resolve every pending limitation.
