Official announcement at ISE 2026: EB-XQ2030B as flagship

Epson has confirmed the presentation of its new professional projector EB-XQ2030B during the ISE 2026 trade fair, held in Barcelona from February 3 to 6. The device positions itself as the company's most advanced model in the high-brightness segment, specifically designed for large-format applications, rental and staging, as well as immersive installations and higher education.

The presentation was framed within the multisensory installation Infinity, an immersive experience aimed at demonstrating the impact of three-chip 3LCD laser projection technology. According to Massimo Pizzocri, Vice President of Epson Europe, the goal is for the public not only to observe but to feel the power of light in real spaces, from meeting rooms to tourist attractions.

Verified technical specifications: 30,000 lumens and 4K Crystal Motion

The EB-XQ2030B stands out by offering 30,000 lumens of native brightness, a figure that places it at the top of the current professional range. Epson claims it is the world's smallest and lightest 30,000-lumen 4K projector, a statement supported by its new advanced cooling system (Advanced Cooling Engine) that allows reducing chassis size and weight without compromising thermal dissipation.

Regarding image quality, the model incorporates 4K Crystal Motion technology, which combines native 3LCD resolution with motion processing that improves sharpness and fluidity in high-speed scenes. The combination of laser and 3LCD seeks to offer greater color saturation and superior brightness uniformity compared to traditional DLP solutions in this brightness range.

New H Series lens range: compatibility and versatility

Alongside the projector, Epson has launched a new lens series, the H Series, designed to be compatible with the entire range of the brand's high-brightness projectors, from 6,000 to 30,000-lumen models. This cross-compatibility strategy allows system integrators to reuse lenses across different models, reducing inventory costs and increasing flexibility in installations.

The new line includes three innovative lens designs, created based on customer feedback to address specific installation requirements. This modularity is a key differentiator against competitors who usually offer model-specific lenses, limiting the scalability of solutions in large-scale projects.

Technical comparison: 3LCD laser vs. DLP

The high-end projector market has historically been dominated by DLP technology, but Epson argues that its 3LCD laser solution offers significant advantages in terms of color fidelity and the absence of the rainbow effect. Three-chip LCD technology allows processing red, green, and blue channels independently, resulting in more accurate color reproduction and higher light efficiency.

In the 30,000-lumen segment, competition is scarce. While brands like Barco or Christie dominate the ultra-high-end fixed installation segment, the EB-XQ2030B targets an intermediate niche where portability and cost-effectiveness are critical. Laser technology guarantees a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours, eliminating the need for lamp replacement and reducing long-term maintenance costs.

Availability, price, and launch markets

As of October 2026, Epson has not published a definitive official price for the EB-XQ2030B in all markets, although it is expected to be in the range of 20,000 to 30,000 euros excluding VAT, depending on lens and accessory configuration. Initial availability focuses on the European market, with special emphasis on Spain and Germany, where the company has a strong presence in the AV systems integration sector.

AV professionals can request demo units through Epson's authorized distributors. It is recommended to verify local availability, as initial batches may be limited to large-scale projects or key corporate clients. The gradual launch strategy allows Epson to adjust production according to actual demand from the professional market.

Market context: Epson's position in 2026

Epson has maintained its position as the world's number one in projector sales since 2001, a status reinforced by this launch. In a market where brands like Hisense, BenQ, and XGIMI have gained share in the domestic and mid-range segments, Epson focuses on consolidating its leadership in the professional and educational segments, where reliability and technical support are decisive factors.

Competition in the high-brightness segment is intense, but the EB-XQ2030B offers a clear value proposition: the combination of the smallest physical footprint for its brightness level, lens compatibility, and 3LCD laser technology. For system integrators, this translates into greater design flexibility and a reduction in operational costs over the project lifecycle.
